The right spends too much time arguing religion and economics online and not enough time gaining wealth and power in the real world. Last year however, Walt Bismark began changing that in a big way with his Tortuga Society, which he called “Bismark’s Buccaneers” at inception. The names refer to plundering woke corporation through the practice of job stacking (working multiple remote jobs concurrently), a practice that made Walt wealthy and which he wanted to share with others like him. Naturally, many on the right are so addicted to losing that several anklebiters crawled out of the woodwork to chirp at him about how unethical job stacking supposedly is. Walt and others put them in their place, but what I appreciated most about how Walt responded is his dismissal of any obligation to justify himself to losers. This attitude helped me trust Walt as a leader because I realized he was immune to the SJW tactic of moralistic shaming. Here I’ll share my philosophical rejection of moralism and how it feeds into my support for job stacking.
Each individual is innately and intractably different from others, and everyone is unique. This applies to our moral wiring as much as to anything else. If we extend an attitude of “don’t worry about stuff you can’t control” to morality as well, it should not bother us that we can’t change others’ moral wiring. We can appeal to certain of others’ moral values that appear compatible with our own but if their values are irreconcilable we just move on. A friend of mine coined the term “actualism” for this attitude but it’s such great sense there shouldn’t even need to be a term for it (the same can be said of the term “white nationalism”, so I sympathize with Walt’s rejection of it). Moralists can be defined as people lacking in such sense. Moralists are so maladapted to the conditions of others having values at variance with theirs that their behavior is often counterproductive to the actualization of their own values. There’s probably some sort of group advantage to having some people who are altruistic this way in the enforcement of social norms but they can be a real nuisance to high-openness, experimental types like Walt and me. Job stacking is an experiment in an asymmetric strategy and Walt’s society provides a necessary haven for non-moralistic guys on the right to experiment with it.
Job stacking has a zero-sum quality that offends moralists who think that monogamy should also be enforced in the workplace for certain remote jobs. Each additional job secured by one of Tortuga's stackers is one less for someone else, including leftists. There are older non-ideological job stacking groups like r/overemployed as well. Because stacking is as open to leftists as it is to others, if we do not stack we are left at a disadvantage. What about the possibility that we might poach a job from one of our guys? This possibility is always present, but again, it’s better for one of our guys to poach it than for a leftist to. In the case of the Tortuga Society, because we carefully vet applicants for maximal basedness, we never poach jobs from anyone more based than we are.
There’s an interesting libertarian angle to Tortuga’s ethos of sanctioning job stacking as well as other piratical behaviors against woke corporations. Libertarians give strong sanction to vigilantism because we more than anyone else recognize how badly the government justice system can fail. Many corporations have gotten away with crimes, both direct and in terms of their political lobbying. A type of vigilantism underexplored by libertarians is something I term “compensatory aggression”. This means weaponizing laws that criminalize behavior that does not violate property against actors who would otherwise get away with it. An example is a corporation that discriminates against white guys (a non-violation) but also funds politicians who support anti-discrimination law (a violation). A libertarian is justified in suing such an employer for discrimination because some justice is better than no justice and because the punishment is not disproportionate, but even a degree of disproportionate punishment is arguably preferable to standing by and allowing crimes to be continue to be perpetrated. Because being condemned by their own gospel of civil rights is so vexing to leftists, this tactic is also good leverage in negotiating the abolition of anti-discrimination law.
Most Tortugans are not libertarians, however much more importantly hardly any are fascists either in my experience. Although fascists are not excluded from Tortuga as they are from my own organization, the kind of people who look to the state to bail them out rather than within themselves tend not to be the kind of people who gravitate toward an organization like Tortuga. Unlike many on the Dissident Right who bemoan data jobs as goy slavery, Tortugans enjoy for its own sake the satisfaction of transforming dizzying arrays of meaningless numbers into actionable information that creates tangible value for our teammates at work and ultimately for customers. We also enjoy skill development for its own sake. It’s part of what Uncle Ted called the “power process”, and as long as we’re consigned to specialized roles by technological exigencies, we might as well make the most of it. Tortugans are expected to be self-starters; the skill development boot camp to prepare members to job stack is fully self-study. Tortugans Members are happy to lend a helping hand during what little spare time we have, but our society is not a place where anyone can expect to have their hand held. In addition to independent job stacking Tortuga also now networks with staffing firms, but candidates for placement are required to have the requisite skills. We don’t do DEI for white guys because we’re too good for that kind of collectivist crap. Discussions in Tortuga are mostly business; political discussion is frequent but peripheral, and political spergery is actively discouraged. One guy who wanted to sperg had to start his own Telegram group for it, and he ended up leaving. This is consonant with the unofficial political tendency of the group, which is decidedly null-positionist, a term I coined as a counter to third positionist. Null (or zeroth) positionism is reactionary politics that in contrast to third positionism favors decentralized, competitive, and non-interventionist government. The term null is apt because it emphasizes the Zen of our position: It is so obvious to well-adjusted and clear thinking people that there hardly needs to be a word for it at all, let alone be talked about at length. Nearly all of us already know what we aim for politically and what must be done to achieve it, so instead of talking about it we go and DO it.
Another reason why politics isn’t primary within Tortugan discussion spaces is because many Tortugans have Substack as an outlet to pontificate about it. A few have built up impressive subscription counts. Substack has proven to be fertile ground for dissident cultural interchange. This interchange will eventually produce great art and entertainment as well (Walt’s already cooking up a musical). In contrast to social justice agitprop, our stuff mostly isn’t political. It speaks to people as they are, and that by itself creates a positive association with our political activities elsewhere in our lives. Theater kids may be uncool in high school but a few of them end up deciding for society what’s cool in later years. “A safe space for racist theater kids” is how Walt describes his blog and rightly so. It’s a shame that anti-racists took over the entertainment industry because racism is just so darn funny. Due to their insane overreach SJWs are falling from power and it’s the based A & E appreciators who will have the last laugh.
Art and entertainment is the flowering of people high in openness to aesthetics. Aesthetic means pertaining to the senses, and in this sense Tortugans wish to create a sensual society. We’re not chauvinistic about this in that we recognize Puritans on the right should have their own enclaves as well but at the same time, Puritanism is not the norm and that the predominance of this attitude has wreaked havoc on our civilization, from the abolitionist agitation surrounding the War Between the States to the its modern mutation in social justice. We’re a fun-loving bunch who are ok with bawdiness and irreverence! We do have a fair few traditionally religious folks among our ranks but not the rigid puritanical types, instead they’re types who are objective about the contexts where different kinds behaviors are appropriate. The whole reason I became involved in dissident right-wing politics in the first place was to get away from scolding SJWs, not become one of them.
An effective repellent to the counterparts that left wing SJWs have on the right is that Tortuga’s membership isn’t racially exclusive. Many on the right are hostile to me because I’m half-jewish, but no one in Tortuga has said an unkind word to me about that. In Tortuga, as in my own organization, we recognize that though our objective is ethnic autonomy for all; our cause is strengthened when we’re united as activists across racial lines. Walt has observed that whites competing with other races, especially jews, makes us stronger. The world’s leading living libertarian theorist Hans-Hermann Hoppe has recognized this as well in his essay “The Case for Free Trade and Restricted Immigration”. Our resounding rejection of race essentialism and right-wing race communism is both righteous and optically optimal.
A number within the Tortuga Society are sowing the seeds of a Network State. Rule over discontiguous territory has a great deal of historical precedence but the era of the internet and now especially blockchain technology has made it a near inevitability. Privacy cryptocurrency is to my mind the best candidate for coin of the realm, and until the Civil Rights Act is repealed private smart contracts will allow us to pursue our goal of gentrification with robustness. When we attain a critical economic mass we will be able to bankroll politicians who will both call out white replacement explicitly and support measures necessary to reversing it. Because of our makeup, spiteful populists who wish to punish the most economically productive among us will receive little support, however. There is no ultimate power without money and lots of it. Through our exploitation of the power of the market and the wondrous technologies it has produced, that ultimate power will belong to us.
A fitting post for July 4th!
